The hubs and I were married on December 14, 2004. We always new we wanted to have children but knew we needed time to adjust to being married and living and working and be sound in our marriage before we added any little people to the mix. In the meantime he policed our town and I taught the students of it. We didn't date very long before were were married - a year to the day in fact so we definitely needed so more get to know ya time. We built a house, traveled, and had a whole lot of fun while doing so.
We finally made the decision to try and conceive about 4 years after the I Do's. Well you know what they say about best laid plans. It would seem that our plan didn't quite match up with the big guys plan. Finally, after a year of trying the regular old way we sought out some fertility help. We attempted IUI twice with no luck. This both made us a little nervous and decided to take a break from baby making. But a few months later we decided to give it one more try.
Lots of meds later and a few minor procedures through IVF, we got the news...we were expecting. Six weeks later at our first sono I fell in love for the second time in my life with a picture that looked like an owl that contained the two most precious babies we could have ever imagined.
Gavin Daniel and Mason Thomas were born on November 20, 2009. I think we were always meant to have twins. I think this was always that plan for us all along. I know that we went through what we did to fully appreciate the blessings that were made possible by God and his faithful doctors.
And that's how our family came to be. Our twinnies are approaching 18 months now and I still can't believe they are in our lives. Two little bundles of joy that were well worth the wait!
