Week 19
I was 20 weeks on Sunday and as you can tell I am really starting to pop. I am over the halfway mark for having a single pregnancy and since I am having 2 I am a few weeks past the halfway mark for that. I go back in this Thursday and Friday. We will get to see the parinatologist and our regular doctor. And we get sonograms at both. YAY!!! BTW we get to see the parinatologist B/C we are considered at-risk since we are expecting twins. That's all for now.

Yeah - The Twins Have a Bed for Their Bedding!

After multiple trips to Lone Star Baby we finally made a decision about furniture. And just in time. I have been losing major sleep over this. We will have to make yet another trip back tomorrow to place the order. Poor Kevin - the little engineer that could used drafting paper and made a mock room to scale so we could decide where everything would go. I knew it would be a tight fit but we were able to put 2 cribs, one small dresser/changing station, and a chair/glider in their room. I was really worried the chair would have to go, but we made it work. We need to register still but I think we'll tackle that when we get back from out River trip.

Check out the crib and dresser at http://www.ragazzi.com/code/detail.aspx?col=1. They do have a bunk bed that will follow in a few years. I don't even want to think about that.

Thank you all for your comments on the fabric. Having never done this before I wasn't sure how it would play out. Since this will probably be the only nursery I ever design I want it to be perfect for them. A huge weight has been lifted ... for now.

One Big Hurdle Down

Since finding out we are having 2 boys my mind has been in a tailspin to start planning and getting things ready, checked off, and at least thought of. I fear bed rest, which is common with twins, so I really want to be on the ball with this.

Kev and I went to Marble Falls this weekend to visit my parents. On Sat. my mom and I headed to Cowgirls and Lace, a fabulous fabric store that is worth the drive, in Dripping springs. After 3 hours and numerous swatches we were finally able to pinpoint down the boys nursery bedding. We are getting the bumpers made there and my mom's friend is going to make the skirts, the valance, and the changing pad covers. I think these sophisticated, vintage, soft fabrics will not be outgrown anytime soon for my two dudes. I need to decide what accessories to throw in. Any suggestions???

We have narrowed down the cribs and changing station and are trying to decide. The collections we are looking at are from a Stanley Company called Young America. They have fabulous baby/kid furniture. Check them out at http://www.youngamerica.com/.

Baby news

We are having 2 boys!!! Bust out the blue, bring on the sports, hello soccer mom.

I can't believe we finally know what we are having. I have been waiting for this day. But now my mind is swirling with what all needs to be done or at least things we need to get started on. There's registering, planning/designing a nursery, clearing out the room for the nursery, and remodeling the closet. My plate is full but well worth it.

Thanks for all of you support and prayers leading up to this. Keep them coming. I may need them for my sanity.

My Vampire Obsession Confession

Alright friends I have a confession to make. I Kelli Palmer am obsessed with all things vampire!!! I am not sure what it is about them, but I just can't get enough. I read the first 3 Twilight books in one week several months back (they were all 500+ page boos might i add). It took me a month to read the 4th and last book in the Twilight series. I stretched it out b/c I knew I would be devastated once it was over. Which I am still trying to recover from. I made my poor husband take me to see the movie the night it came out. I will admit it wasn't what I thought it was going to be but I heart it anyway. I later bought it (twice) through On-Demand because I couldn't get enough.

I was turned on to the HBO series True Blood by a co-worker a month ago. Luckily I didn't know is was based on a book or no one would have seen or heard from me until I had read them all. I watched the first season (12 episodes) in 24 hours. Seriously - do you see the obsession??? I was on pins and needles waiting to season 2 to began. I almost cried when I realized there wasn't a show this week b/c of the holiday.

Here's where it gets worse. Another friend got me started reading the Argeneua Vampire series. I read book 2 mistakenly out of order in one day. It was so good I got up and headed to Barnes and Noble to get the rest (thank heavens there are like 11 books in this series) this morning. Lucky me.

But here's where my obsession is starting to embarrass me....

I wandered in B&N looking for this new series by Lynsay Sands. I headed to Fiction/Lit. and located the "S" author section only to find my beloved new author was nowhere to be found. Instead of checking another section (which I thought it clearly could not be) I headed to the help desk. I saw a gal working there when I walked by and thought she could help me out. I guess she took a break b/c there in her place was a gentleman my age. I politely went up and asked him if he could help me locate the author. I spelled it and he checked and said he had no listing. He then said he needed a book title to look her up. I then gulped and for the sake of my obsession for all things vampire responded..."Single, White, Vampire" - the name of the book I was looking for. Sure glad I didn't tell him the other "Tall, Dark, and Hungry." By now I am flushed and mortified that I have become so obsessed I would risk public embarrassment to get my hands on these books. I did say to him in my sweetest bubbly voice "Please don't judge." In the end my new series was located in the Romance Fiction section - which the gentleman proceeded to take me personally over too. How humiliating! However...I did get a book. I have learned a valuable lesson here though - just order online - that way no one has to know what embarrassing things you may be reading.

Fellow vampire obsessed friends I know you feel my pain. You other people - read a vampire book and you will be hooked.

PS - I so got a pedi after I got the book just for a excuse to begin reading. :)

Summer Vacations

Kevin and I have been super busy since my last blog. We headed down to FL on June 25th. We had a staycation with my family there. We lounged in the pool (which was much needed), we hung out in historic downtown St. Augustine (the oldest city in America), we boated one day, and even made time to get some western photos taken (it was like we were back in Texas).

We enjoyed breakfast at the Beachcomber. A must when visiting St. Augustine. I made Kevin share a veggie omelet and pecan pancakes. FYI - He hates to share food.

Here we are, babies in tow walking down St. George street. Boy and I am popping out!

My dad with his grandson, my nephew, Kane. Isn't he a cutie? He's about to have some cousins to play with at our next Winn Family vacation.

The boys hanging out with Kane.

Barbara and Kane getting ready for our western photo shoot. Shortly after he began to overheat and that was the end of that costume. He makes a much better surfer. Less clothes.

We turned around the day after we returned and made the 9 hour drive to the Valley for the 4th. We got to visit Kevin's Memaw and then headed down to Port Isabell for the rest of the weekend. Kevin went offshore fishing and I hung out with his mom (we got massages one day - much needed as well) and shopped a bit. We spent last night at the ranch and headed home this morning. Sorry - no pictures to post there.

This weekend we are heading to Marble Falls to visit my parents. My mom and I are planning on going to some fabric stores to start planning the nursery. We find out what we are having on Wed. so we can get to work.

Kevin and I are planning a babymoon in August. Any suggestions???
